Menu Plan Monday

So, I’ve been struggling with the menu. Because I work two full time jobs my family has been making the majority of the meals. The cast of cooks include myself, my husband, my oldest daughter and my son. I cook on the weekends, and . . . well, I’ll show you down below on the schedule.

My question to those of you that have tried it - what do you think of Dream Dinners or something that is similar? Do you think it’s too expensive, not worth it?  I’m seriously considering this as an option.

Thank you so much for all your advice!! Everyone that participates in the Menu Plan Monday has been an extremely - above awesome - help to me in the last 6 to 7 months.

Dinner

Monday - Hot Dogs and Chips (Cook: My son)

Tuesday - Hamburger Helper (Cook: My husband)

Wednesday - Lasagna (Cook: My daughter)

Thursday - Baked Chicken Salad (Cook: My husabnd)

Friday - Pasta Salad (Cook: Myself)

Saturday - Hamburgers, hot dogs & chips (Cook: Myself)

Sunday - Breakfast for Dinner ~ French Toast (Cook: Myself)

Secret Pal 12 - Question #5

1) Where is your favorite place to go for vacation/holiday?

Camping!! Love camping. Don’t think we’re going to get to go camping this year unless it’s a 3-day thing, though.

2) Where is one place you’d like to go?

There are two places that I would love to visit. In the U.S. it would be Maine. I love the small town feel and I think all of Maine would provide that feeling. Abroad I would LOVE to visit Ireland. The lush green mountains lure me. And the music too. Did anyone see P.S. I love you? Gerard Butler??? *sigh*

Inspiration of the Month - Rain

Have you got 10 minutes to watch another awesome video?

God hurts when we hurt. Are you a parent? Then you can definitely understand that emotion that seems to shake your world when your child comes to you crying, scared, or just in trouble. You want so much to take the pain away or to take the pain for them. That’s the way that God feels about you. Isn’t that amazing?

SP 12 - Week 4 Question

1) What yarn (that you don’t have/haven’t used) would make your stash “complete”?

Hmmmm . . . that is a tough one to answer.

2) What yarn do you never want to be without?

From this point forward Bulky Wool!! I LOVE me some Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky.  I like to use it in felt and non-felt projects.

Swaps, swaps and more swaps!!

I have gone buck wild!!! Is that a good term to use?? Well, I’ve definitely gone swap crazy. I am currently in one, two, three. . . . four swap! I went from being in none to being in 4!! Well, you already know about the HSKS5 swap. I think I also mentioned the Starbucks Swap and the Secret Pal 12 swap. All three of those are closed to new members until the next rounds. One swap that I’m totally jazzed about (besides the Starbucks swap) is the Twilight Swap!!!!

How many good books can there be out there?? I ordered Twilight by Stephanie Meyers a little over a week ago. I heard it was good, but wasn’t overly excited about it. I’d kind of sworn off reading Vampire books for a while because the concept of eternity tends to freak me out after a while. Especially after reading the Anne Rice vampire books. Anyway, I read Twilight and found out that this book is part of a series!! Talk about estatic. I bought book number two Thursday night, began reading it on Friday and basically would have finished it Sunday night, but had to slow myself down until I could get book number 3 - The Eclipse. Stopped at the book store on the way home and will begin reading it tonight. Book number 4 - Breaking Dawn will be released Aug. 1st. So, what are we supposed to be swapping??? I’m not entirely sure. I got so hooked into the books that I didn’t even look to see what each package is supposed to include. I suppose I should look at that. Come and join us if you dare! We are still looking for people to join the Coven and the Pack. The great thing? There’s going to be a movie :)
